Holy Cow is one of the best skate clips I've seen in a while, new spots galore here in this short ten minute piece summarizing a month long journey through the chromatic & chaotic countries of South Asia. Pushing and on board were Walker Ryan, Laurence Keefe, Michael Mackrodt and Kenny Reed. Directed, filmed & edited by Patrik Wallner. For more info go to visualtraveling.com

The Science of Imaginary Solutions

We told you last week about the premiere of Autolux's new clip. Well here it is. And what an amazing clip. Director: Thomas McMahan and artist Mark Whalen along with a host of others have put together a mind bending clip. For a while now I've wondered what the moving version of MArk's work would look like, well here it is. A glimpse into the Pixies mind.

I want something good to die for to make it beautiful to live ...
In the 1940s, The Inkwell was the only place on the Westside of Los Angeles where people of color could congregate comfortably and enjoy a day at the beach. One day a teenager named Nick Gabaldon borrowed a lifeguard's paddleboard and took to the surf. Segregation was an obstacle for him when he first sought to surf the famous waves of Malibu. So Nick paddled the 12 miles from the Inkwell to the famed point break. On June 6, 1951 Nick drowned in a surfing accident at Malibu, but his undying passion is an inspiration to anyone who has ever had the courage to dream. The waves of Mother Nature belong to all of us, and so does the memory of Nick. Find your surfing, 12 Miles North.
Autoux will be throwing the premiere party at LAUNCH, a large gallery space across from LACMA. Although it's well past the time to be making and releasing a video for a song off of Transit Transit, Autolux really have no choice but to celebrate how great the video that animator/director Thomas McMahan has made. Thomas has taken artist Mark Whalen's paintings and made a beautifully enigmatic video for "The Science Of Imaginary Solutions".
They will be screening/projecting the video for the first time - before sending it out to the rest of the world after the party. Be the first to see it. There will be a bar/bring your ID!
The video will be shown 4 times throughout the night: 8:00 | 9:00 | 10:00 | 11:00 LAUNCH: 5858 Wilshire Blvd., Ste. 205 Los Angeles, CA 90036

Luminarie De Cagna

The Luminarie De Cagna is an imposing cathedral-like structure that was recently on display at the 2012 Light Festival in Ghent, Belgium. The festival was host to almost 30 exhibitions including plenty of 3D projection mapping, fields of luminous flowers, and a glowing phone booth aquarium, however with 55,000 LEDs and towering 28 meters high the Luminarie De Cagna seems to have stolen the show.
