Surfing Boston: Winter Storm Hercules

Last week a couple friends returned from New York to indulge in some sub-zero temperature surfing on some rarely seen breaking peaks in our hometown of Marblehead on Boston’s North Shore.

For any northeast kid, it’s a treat to see swell this size, but with the icy temps in effect, only a handful got in the water over the weekend, sometimes it was just one.

Average Air Temp: 0 – 10 degrees F / Water temps in the upper 30s lower 40s

Surfers: Mike Reilly / Hobie Boeschenstein
