If you’re after an expertly shot film with a compelling story, Riley Blakeway’s the man to call.
It’s no easy task creating an immersive music video that not only looks good, but tugs on the heartstrings that wee little bit too, but that’s exactly what the Sydney based director’s achieved in City Calm Down’s raw new song, “Joan, I’m Disappearing”. Shot on Super 16mm in Goulburn and Sydney, Australia, the film takes the lead from the opening line of the track “It turned to shit on April 18”. The story centres around a son and father in the aftermath of loss, isolated from both each other and the rest of the world on their property in rural Australia. Stunning visuals accompanied by a fine-tuned plot line await, press play above.
