Young Henry’s are on quite the collab roll.
Not a week after releasing a brew with the Foo Fighters, they’re at it again with DZ Deathrays. The two parties actually made a beer together a while back called Pills ‘n’ Thrills, and they’ve decided to give it another run to celebrate the success of their pals’ new album Bloody Lovely. As par for the course, the beer’s been re-named the Bloody Lovely Czech Pilsner.
As if that wasn’t enough, the gang are also springing up Bloody Lovely bars to make a celebration of the whole thing. It’s a city by city, one night only type affair, in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, so pay attention: Brisbane’s Greaser Bar on Friday 2nd Feb, Sydney’s Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern on Saturday 3rd and Melbourne’s The Beaufort on Sunday 4th February. The band themselves will be manning the wheels of steel at the pop-ups, and as well as sinking brews you’ll also be able to get exclusive merch.
“We have always wanted to open our own bar at some point and I guess this is a good way to test the waters and also launch the new record with a bang,” explains Shane Parsons of DZ Deathrays, “In the studio we were trying to get that feeling of a fun dive bar with our music playing in the background while people shoot pool and talk shit.”
