The resurgence of all things small batch and handmade has hit the surf world as hard as anywhere.
There was a time when all surfers were looking for was the next fad to compensate for their lack of ability. Surfboards were seen as disposable commodities to be constantly updated, and in general the bespoke roots of the sport were a distant memory. Thankfully those days are over, and that leads us to the above video of Northern Rivers local Andy Ceglinski. Brought up by a woodworking father, the smell of timber was a part of Andy’s genetic makeup. It’s little surprise then, to find out that he’s brought his lineage to making timber surfcraft. A welcome return to a simpler time when things moved just that little bit slower.
