Methyl Ethel Live at OAF

Photos and words by Charlie Hardy

Perth’s Methyl Ethel are playing three sold-out shows this week at Sydney’s The Oxford Art Factory.

The four-piece are currently touring their new album, Everything Is Forgotten, around Australia before heading off to Europe and the UK. Last night’s show was a full house, the crowd were up close, leaning over the stage, almost on top of their gear. They kicked things off with their opening song, “Summer Moon” then into “No.28”. The crowd seemed mesmerised by vocalist/guitarist Jake Webb, as he moved and threw his guitar around while standing on the tips of his feet. The group are back on tonight at the Oxford Art Factory, you’d better have gotten yourself some tickets. And if not, bad luck!
