Hiroshi Fujiwara’s credited with kick-starting the street wear revolution.
So you can blame him for the endless collabs, queues down the street, and $120 logo tees. In all seriousness though, the man’s been instrumental in shaping inner-city culture and what lands on the backs (and more importantly, the feet) of the kids. Hiroshi’s brand Fragment churns out the most selective of collabs, and this is one of the more wearable, and frankly, more affordable, that we’ve seen.
The fresh take on the much loved Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 has been designed with formal occasions in mind, and according to Hiroshi, they’re the sneakers that “go with your tuxedo or dress.” Ruining a good tux look aside, the detail that’s been injected into these things makes them worth the price of admission alone. The upper’s made from premium suiting twill, the heel’s satin, and the white colourway features lace detailing.
The new Converse x fragment design collection is available in striped, black, grey and white, and they’ll be available on February 17th here, as well as Converse Chadstone, Converse Emporium, Cabinet Noir, Supply Store and Up There Store.
