Lloyd Stubber was one of the winners of the 2013 photo competition and started Bloom Publishing, who are about to release their fourth title LIT.
LIT marks the third instalment of the ‘Old Mates’ series, where each title features work from two longtime photographer companions.
The publication features work from Belgrade born Ana Kraš and Marija Strajnic. The photographs are taken throughout their hometown and where Ana now resides, New York. By collectively choosing eleven words and individually interpreting them, they’ve created diptych-esque spreads throughout the title.
LIT is being launched at Perimiter Books on November 6th 6-8pm, 748 High Street Thornbury.
The 24 page, digital indigo printed, A5 title is released as a hand-numbered edition of 250. Copies will be available on the night along with limited edition signed prints.
Another independent collective keeping the print dream alive are Sanja Gozdanic and Tess Martin of the soon to be published KRASS journal. The inaugural issue will deliver Hiatus Kaiyote, Prue Stent, Ollie Henderson, Henrik Purienne, Ariel Pink, Julian Burnside, QC,Amiel Coutrin-Wilson to name a few. Printing doesn’t come cheap and when you are producing something of quality to be shared with the world it comes at a cost. The group are running a pozzible campaign to help get their first issue to print, head to their website to make a pledge and be apart of the making of something beautiful.
Language is above all seductive and you can’t go to bed with a website. Krass wants you to take it home.
